City University Malaysia, previously known as the Petaling Jaya Community College, was established in April 1984 by a group of experienced scholars from local and international universities. The university offers a wide range of programmes at the pre-university, diploma, degree, and postgraduate levels, covering various disciplines such as accounting, business, allied health sciences, architecture, and engineering. Many of these programmes are accredited and acknowledged by reputable bodies including the Board of Architects Malaysia, Department of Occupational Safety and Health, ACCA, and Nursing Board Malaysia.
Being one of the earliest private higher education institutions in Malaysia, City University has successfully produced over 35,000 graduates. A remarkable 75% of these graduates have secured employment with both local and international companies, smoothly transitioning into their professional careers.
In terms of ranking and reputation, City University has received a 4-star rating in the latest SETARA rating. It is also one of the few institutions in Malaysia recognized by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health and the Board of Architects Malaysia. Additionally, the university has gained professional recognition from ACCA for its accounting and finance programmes.
